About Us
Concord Geotechnical has been a primary international supplier of geosynthetics installation equipment for over 20 years. Founder Steve Hobbs entered the geosynthetics industry in 1982, and was instrumental in developing the first wedge welders and related test equipment, helping to shape the standards and techniques of the growing geomembrane lining industry.
Concord is now pleased to announce that as of September 1, 2010, Concord has been acquired by the Swiss firm Leister Process Technologies. Concord & Leister have joined forces to bring the best of quality manufacturing and design innovation to the plastic welding industry.
Effective September 1, 2010, there will be no further production of Concord's world-famous 905 wedge welders. However, Concord will continue to offer full parts & service support for all existing Concord welders. In addition, Concord will continue to offer a limited line of geomembrane test equipment.
The firm Leister is a recognized world leader in the manufacture of plastic welding tools, with a proven dedication to superior engineering & quality. Steve Hobbs, of Concord, will bring his expertise to Leister, focusing on wedge welders, extruders, hand tools and test equipment related to geomembranes and/or civil engineering in North America. Look for exciting new developments in the Leister line-up.
Concord would like to thank all of it's customers, past and present, over these 20 years. We've always done our best job to help you do your best job. We look forward to continuing that role going forward, as we transition to focus on the new products, resources, and technical expertise at Leister Process Technologies.
